Overview:
A leading manufacturer of flight-critical components and assemblies for the aerospace and defense industries is seeking a Quality Engineer to support its quality function. This role reports directly to the Quality Supervisor and will be responsible for ensuring compliance with the Quality Management System (QMS), supporting audits, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Ensure adherence to QMS processes and procedures to maintain quality approvals.
Lead or support internal and external audit activities (e.g., system, customer, NADCAP).
Ensure compliance with Export Control regulations and internal control procedures.
Drive root cause corrective action (RCCA) through real-time reviews and non-conformance tracking.
Track and report Quality KPIs to support year-over-year improvements.
Manage all aspects of Quality Planning, NPI, and FAI processes using internal tools and trackers.
Conduct contract reviews, interpret customer drawings, and review gaging requirements.
Perform Gage R&R studies and develop statistical process control (SPC) plans.
Create and validate inspection templates and CMM programs.
Coordinate special process approvals, customer submittals, and compliance documentation.
Participate in customer training programs and attain required certifications (e.g., self-release approvals).
Utilize statistical software to analyze quality data and lead regular SPC review sessions.
Support MRB reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and events.
Complete training and participate in company-led improvement programs.
Domestic travel required (5–10%).
Requirements:
Must be a “U.S. Person” under ITAR regulations.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment (aerospace preferred).
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Knowledge of inspection methods, quality engineering practices, and SPC techniques.
Effective communication skills across various departments and stakeholders.
Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
