SUMMARY
Inspects and tests plastic components for dimensional accuracy and surface defects to verify conformance to company quality standards. Performs periodic audits to ensure that established in-process inspection procedures are effective and consistently followed. Records test data and written inspection reports via computer input and confers with production personnel to determine cause of deviations from quantitative standards. Provides support and oversight of the assembly and molding rework area.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
First article inspection, which includes dimensional analysis and mold start up.
Operates equipment and sets up gauges and implements inspection methods and standards for each type of component as outlined in the Quality Control Manual.
Special assignments including but not limited to Central Tendency, Process Capability and Design of Experiments.
Provide assistance to manufacturing for trouble-shooting quality related problems.
Audits of molded components and in-process inspection procedures to ensure effectiveness of system.
Assists associates in the rework area to ensure they are performing the tasks properly.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
One to three months related experience and/or training.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
COMMENTS
Individual must be a self-starter, able to work with little or no supervision. A good working knowledge of all products. “How” pump functions and “How” individual components of pump effect performance. Basic math skills required, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Familiarity with sampling plans and ability to juggle many tasks at once would be helpful. Further abilities should include: The ability to think visually of geometric forms and to comprehend the two-dimensional representation of three-dimensional objects, and to recognize the relationships resulting from the movement of objects in space. The ability to perceive pertinent detail in objects or in pictorial or graphic material, and to make visual comparisons and see slight differences in shapes and shadings of figures, and widths, and lengths of lines. The ability to perceive pertinent detail in verbal or tabular material, and to observe differences in copy, to proofread words and numbers, and to avoid perceptual errors in arithmetic computations. A measure of speed of perception is required in many industrial jobs even when the job does not have verbal or numerical content. The ability to coordinate eyes and hands or fingers rapidly accurately in making precise movements with speed, and to make movement response accurately and swiftly. Moving fingers and manipulate small objects with fingers, rapidly or accurately. Moving hands easily and skillfully. To work with hands in placing and turning motions. Coordinate hand and foot movement in accordance with visual stimuli. The ability to match or discriminate between colors in terms of hue, saturation, and brilliance. To identify a particular color or color combination from memory and be able to perceive harmonious or contrasting color combination.
