Job Summary

The ESD/Regulatory Agency Quality Compliance Engineer will be based in Austin, TX. The candidate shall be responsible for organizational adherence to regulatory/agency compliance requirements, ensuring that product safety and/or regulatory compliance processes are implemented across organizational functions, and providing or obtaining necessary resources to ensure compliance.

Here is a glimpse of what you’ll do…

Regulatory Compliance

:

Ensure products manufactured by Flex America, LLC. comply with customer-specified safety standards and applicable regulatory agency standards (e.g., UL, CSA, TUV).

Coordinate activities related to maintaining independent agency approvals on customer products, acting as liaison between certifying agencies and customers as needed.

Ensure products are manufactured according to specifications set by certifying or listing agencies.

Coordinate periodic audits by certifying or listing agencies, including review of nonconformities or defects.

Maintain all applicable agency audit/certification procedures, reports, and records, including critical component listings.

Review and approve engineering changes, deviations, and substitutions on products with agency-sensitive parts or markings.

Review and maintain procedures and reports affecting product safety or compliance.

Work with test engineering to ensure calibration and programming of safety testing equipment.

Collaborate on ESD testing procedures for all Hi-Pot test equipment.

Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) Program Manager:

Obtain or hold a certified ESD program manager certificate to serve as SME for the site and satellite locations.

Lead the ESD team activities across the Austin site and satellite locations.

Own and develop ESD program, processes, and procedures.

Provide ESD training, including new hire orientation.

Work with Business Solutions on ESD management for medical devices.

What you’ll need (required)…

Background in Product Safety (Regulatory Agency) preferred.

Detail-oriented with ability to multi-task.

Experience reviewing BOMs and tracking product data sheets.

Strong report writing and communication skills.

Preferred experiences…

Technical degree and relevant experience.

Ability to cross-train team members.

Audit experience, including hosting external audits and creating agendas.

Managing ESD programs and knowledge of Hi-pot testing preferred.
