We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented individual to join our Quality team as a Regulatory and Compliance Specialist. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our food production processes meet regulatory standards and quality assurance requirements. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of regulatory compliance in the food industry and exceptional organizational skills to manage documentation effectively.

Responsibilities:

Ensure our facility and products comply with all regulatory and certification requirements including FDA, Kosher, Non-GMO, and Organic standards
Stay updated with local, state, federal, and international regulations related to food safety and quality assurance.
Interpret and apply regulatory requirements to ensure compliance across all documentation and processes.
Collaborate with regulatory agencies during inspections and audits, ensuring all required documentation is readily available.
Establish and maintain a robust document control system for all quality assurance and regulatory compliance documents.
Ensure all documentation is accurate, current, and accessible to relevant stakeholders.
Implement procedures for document review, approval, distribution, and archiving.
Assist in the development and maintenance of quality assurance programs and procedures.
Conduct periodic reviews and audits of documentation to ensure adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements.
Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and participating in audit activities.
Serve as a resource for inquiries related to documentation and regulatory compliance issues.
Facilitate communication between departments to ensure alignment on document control and compliance matters.
Identify opportunities for process improvement within the document control and compliance functions.
Implement best practices to streamline document workflows and enhance efficiency.
Requirements:

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Safety, Regulatory Affairs, or a related field.
Proven experience (at least 5 years) in food quality assurance, regulatory compliance, or document control within the food industry.

– Strong knowledge of food safety regulations (e.g., FDA, USDA, GMP, HACCP) and quality management systems (GFSI- SQF).

Excellent organizational and time management skills, with a keen eye for detail.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with electronic document management systems (EDMS).
Knowledge of ERP systems for managing quality and compliance data.

Working Conditions:

This position typically operates in an office environment but may require occasional visits to production facilities or external sites for audits or inspections.
Flexible working hours may be necessary to accommodate deadlines and project requirements.

Pay range: $65-78k a year

Compensation is based on level of experience, other relevant experience, and requirements of the position. The range provided serves only as a guideline and does not automatically qualify all candidates (internal or external) for the high end of the range.
