Highland Industries has an immediate need for FabricInspector / Graders to assist with ensuring product quality, by running fabric across a grading frame and inspecting the various types of Fabrics for quality defects, in our inspection department at our Cheraw, South Carolina Industrial Fabrics Manufacturing Facility.
At this time, we are working 40 hours per week average; you will start out on 3rd shift – hours 12am to 8:00am. We are customer order driven and hours/number of days can change. Shift changes for open positions after hire, are made by seniority.
Summary:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Other duties may be assigned.
Must work safely, follow all plant safety and work rules, attend required safety training and report any/all accidents and incidents immediately.
Inspect, greige and/or finish rolls of fabric (including sample styles) on grading frames and/or finishing unit according to greige and finish style quality specifications.
Record necessary information on production records, enter roll tickets and information into the CIMTEX Software System.
Must be able to interpret Quality Control specifications, classify product into grades according to style qualifications. Must be able to record yardage, check pick count, and measure the width of the fabric.
Must demonstrate the ability to prepare rolls for removal from the frame, by wrapping with plastic and preparing for shipping as specified.
Work Remotely – No (This is an onsite position in manufacturing setting)
Education and/or Experience:
Highschool Diploma or Equivalent with preferred 6-9 months previous quality inspection experience; preferably in a manufacturing environment.
