GENERAL OVERVIEW:
The Quality Manager has the responsibility to ensure that the specifications for customers’ products, and the processes used by Qualicoat to properly process those products, are accurately defined, documented, fully understood and appropriately communicated throughout the entire organization and supply chain. Ensuring continued product integrity is the foundation on which to build customer loyalty and the highest level of morale for our dedicated employees. The tasks and responsibilities of the Quality Manager must be carried out with the utmost integrity, dignity, and professionalism, so that the knowledge and the ideas of the entire workforce are integrated into Qualicoat’s methods and practices.
OBJECTIVES:
Manage and ensure that the Quality system is effectively implemented and maintained in accordance with ISO 9001/2015 standard (Management Representative) and ITAR regulations.
Measurable reduction in the existing level nonconforming parts
A fully developed and implemented training plan for department staff
A fully functional and implemented formal Discrepant Material Report (DMR) system
A fully functional and implemented calibration program for measuring equipment and production control devices
Review of existing Engineering Department customer products filing system, with a goal of creating reliable and easily accessible electronic files that will permit the reduction of, and reliance on, “hard copy” documents
Develop and implement a departmental documentation system that provides for:
Capturing all existing company documents
Permitting the creation of new documents
Allocating each document a unique identification
Proper document revision control
Easy access by users
Security to prevent tampering of Master Files
Review and enhance the existing “Q Panel” paint sample distribution system
Become more knowledgeable in customer products and company processes
Actively promote Company quality values throughout the entire organization
LEVEL OF EMPOWERMENT:
Has authority to stop shipment of any order due to non-conformance
Has the authority to stop any activity that is in violation of the Quality Management System
Has the ability to authorize overtime in the Quality Department
Has the authority to, within reason, purchase supplies and equipment to keep the Quality Department functioning but may not make large equipment or product purchases without the authorization of the company President.
ACCOUNTABILITY:
The role is accountable to:
The Customer by ensuring that finished products meet or exceed customer standards of conformity and for resolving problems and non-conformances when products fail to meet those standards.
The Company and its President by accomplishing the tasks and objectives that are assigned in a timely fashion.
The Management Team by working with the Team communicating quality issues in a timely fashion and guiding the team through the problem resolution process, to meet production goals.
The Staff by providing the necessary tools and training to facilitate Quality Management System requirements.
Themself by conducting business honorably and working in an ethical manner with co-workers at all times.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
Communication
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be proficient in the use of the following computer systems:
Ability to read, comprehend and interpret technical documents written in English such as operating and maintenance instructions, procedural manuals,
Ability to speak effectively, clearly and persuasively before groups of customers or employees of an organization in all situations.

Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the Qualicoat Organization, customer and supplier base.
Approaches co-workers, management, customers and vendors in a tactful manner. Treating others with respect and consideration regardless of their position.

Must be competent in writing detailed and technical:
Procedures, work instructions, Technical Data Sheets, official industry and customer standards and specifications.
Ability to professionally write routine reports, and business correspondences clearly and informatively, using correct grammar and spelling. Varying writing style to meet needs.

EDUCATIONAL AND POSITION EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in quality, Engineering or other related field
Minimum of five years of Quality, or Engineering, supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment, including Management of ISO 9001 Quality System.
Must possess a thorough understanding of Quality and Engineering systems and practices
PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS:
The Q.A. Tech must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus, ability to see in color.
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
The employee is frequently required to stand and walk.
The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather). The employee is occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme heat (non-weather) and risk of electrical shock.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
