Fine Jewelry Quality Control & Finishing Specialist Jobs in New York, NY at A-Z Jewelry Solutions, LLC
A-Z Jewelry Solutions is seeking an experienced Fine Jewelry Quality Control & Finishing Specialist to join our manufacturing team in New York City’s Diamond District.
This position requires exceptional attention to detail and will be responsible for inspecting fine jewelry throughout production and before final shipment.
Responsibilities
- Inspect engagement rings and fine jewelry for overall quality
- Identify casting porosity, pits, cracks, and metal defects
- Check for loose, missing, damaged, or improperly set stones
- Inspect center stones for proper alignment and positioning
- Check pavé, prongs, and stone setting for security and consistency
- Identify scratches, tool marks, polishing defects, and surface imperfections
- Verify ring size, metal color, finish, and overall appearance
- Ensure pieces match approved designs and production specifications
- Return pieces requiring correction to the appropriate production department
- Perform final QC before pieces are approved for shipment
- Assist with laser engraving
- Assist with rhodium and jewelry plating
- Maintain accurate QC records and communicate quality issues to production staff
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of professional fine jewelry experience required
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Strong understanding of fine jewelry quality and finishing
- Ability to identify extremely small defects and inconsistencies
- Experience with engagement rings, bridal jewelry, and diamond-set jewelry preferred
- Understanding of stone setting, polishing, and finishing
- Comfortable handling diamonds, gemstones, and precious-metal jewelry
- Reliable, organized, and able to work efficiently in a production environment
- Able to communicate quality issues clearly with setters, jewelers, polishers, and production staff
Experience with laser engraving, rhodium, and plating is not required. A-Z will provide training for these processes.
Quality control at A-Z takes place throughout the manufacturing process, not only at final inspection. We are looking for someone with a strong eye for detail who notices imperfections others may miss and takes pride in maintaining consistently high standards.
Compensation: $20–$25 per hour based on experience.
Full-time, on-site position in New York City’s Diamond District.
Pay: $20.00 – $25.00 per hour
