Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Food Safety Intern to join our Food Safety team. This internship offers hands-on experience in food safety practices, regulations, and quality control processes within a dynamic food production environment. The intern will support the team in maintaining the highest standards of food safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the implementation and monitoring of food safety programs and procedures.
Support the documentation and maintenance of food safety records, including Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) plans.
Participate in food safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Assist in conducting training sessions on food safety practices for staff and new employees.
Review and analyze food safety data to identify trends or issues and provide recommendations.
Support the investigation and resolution of food safety incidents or non-compliance issues.
Help with the development and updating of food safety policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Stay up-to-date with food safety regulations and industry best practices.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of food safety initiatives across the organization.
Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in a degree program related to Food Science, Food Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field.
Strong interest in food safety, quality assurance, and public health.
Basic understanding of food safety regulations (e.g., HACCP).
Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous internship or coursework in food safety, microbiology, or quality assurance.
Knowledge of food safety software or data management tools.
