KOCH FOODS is seeking a Food Safety Manager to lead food safety and regulatory compliance efforts within our Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) department in our Food & Beverage Operations. In this role, you will oversee all aspects of food safety programs across poultry processing operations, ensuring strict adherence to USDA, FDA, HACCP, GMP, and company standards for fresh and frozen poultry products.
You will develop, implement, and continuously improve food safety systems, policies, and procedures that prevent contamination, reduce risk, and support safe, high-quality production in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
The Food Safety Manager will manage and mentor a team of food safety and quality technicians, providing daily direction, training, and performance feedback to ensure accurate monitoring, documentation, and verification of food safety controls on the production floor. You will partner closely with operations, production, maintenance, quality, and EHS leaders to drive a strong food safety culture, conduct risk assessments, lead root cause investigations on nonconformances, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
This position is responsible for maintaining and validating HACCP plans, allergen control programs, sanitation standard operating procedures (SSOPs), environmental monitoring programs, and traceability and recall readiness.
In addition, you will coordinate and lead regulatory and third-party audits, including GFSI-benchmarked schemes, customer audits, and internal inspections, ensuring all documentation, records, and processes meet or exceed requirements. You will analyze food safety and quality data trends, prepare reports, and present findings and recommendations to management to drive continuous improvement in safety, efficiency, and product quality. The Food Safety Manager will also stay current on changing food safety regulations, industry best practices, and emerging risks, and will translate this knowledge into practical, effective programs and training for facility personnel.
