Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Quality Control Manager with a strong background in food chemistry or food science. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of quality control experience and at least 3 years of team management experience in the food industry. Must be HACCP and SQF certified; PCQI certification preferred (must be obtained within 1 year).
Shift: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Saturday as needed)
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the creation and enforcement of quality, safety, and assurance standards and procedures.
Ability to maintain SQF practitioner certification and SQF Level 3 plant status.
Manage audits for SQF, Organic, FDA, State, Kosher, and customer standards.
Monitor production floor compliance with GMPs and quality policies.
Conduct analytical testing of chemical compounds to ensure purity.
Facilitate daily quality meetings with production, labeling, packaging, and shipping teams.
Assuring all safety glasses, back braces, ear plugs, hairnets and PPE’s are being utilized in a proper fashion and razors/tools are being used properly and are accounted for.
Approve products and labels, ensuring adherence to standards and regulatory compliance.
Review Batch Cards for accuracy and ensure documentation is complete.
Approve Certificates of Analysis for incoming and outgoing products.
Maintain Kosher certifications and inventory of safety and sanitary equipment.
Oversee employee training for safety, hygiene, and tool usage.
Maintain organic logs, chemical segregation, and relevant SQF documentation.
Ensure proper calibration and performance of quality control equipment.
Maintain and update HACCP plans as needed.
Manage customer complaints in a professional and timely manner and administer corrective actions as appropriate.
Occasional travel to Jogue plants for compliance checks.
Requirements:
3+ years of Quality Control experience in the food industry.
3+ years managing a team.
HACCP and SQF certifications required.
PCQI certification preferred (to be obtained within 1 year).
Strong understanding of GMPs, SQF, and food safety regulations.
Ability to lead audits and ensure compliance with industry standards.
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
Standing and walking frequently.
Bending, kneeling, twisting, squatting occasionally.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year
