Prototyping until CFM-T1

  • Understand the requirements (cosmetic, physical and chemical) for materials and FG;
  • Receive and evaluate vendor’s lab test, ask support to Category QM in case of doubts
  • Keeps track of all tests conducted (including failed ones) and the approval status of materials and prototypes.
  • Assign independent counter tests to local laboratories, participate in development and approval progress meetings, and ensure liaison activities with vendors.
  • Provide an opinion on approval to Category QM Industrialization (Commercialization) T2-T4
  • Works alongside vendor development offices to ensure grading (T2-T3) is consistent with the approved CFM.
  • Validates any material and process changes by evaluating vendor test certificates and, if necessary, ensuring verification tests through third-party laboratories.
  • Keeps tracking of all the changes occurred after CFM
  • Aligns the Category Quality Manager on a weekly basis with approval progress and critical issues encountered during development.
  • Creates the defect catalogue and all the necessary documentation for carrying out production QC.
  • Attend and supervise the T4 stage, release the approval to mass production start upon successful completion of the production trial; manage the archiving and handling of master production samples
  • Ensures the transfer to the third party of all the necessary information to effectively conduct the final pre-shipment inspection; for new products make sure that the calibration is properly done Mass production Quality Control
  • In case of new projects running, ensure (personally or with the 3PQC) adequate quality controls during production (IPI, DUPRO) based on the requirements and critical issues of the models in production; promptly report any critical and/or serial defects to the vendor.
  • Ensures that the vendor correctly books the final inspections, evaluates inspection reports, issues shipping authorizations, or rejects batches with unacceptable quality levels.
  • Issue any exemptions and/or concessions in the event of minor quality deviations found in production; consult with the Category Quality Manager in cases of major problems.
  • Notify the vendor of any non-conformities detected during the inspection or received from HQ, ask the vendor to identify the root causes and to start appropriate corrective actions; evaluate their effectiveness.
  • Assess the vendor’s QC process and report any areas for improvement.
  • Analyses each vendor’s KPIs (FPY), organizes periodic meetings (Quality Performance Reviews), requests CAPAs for the most significant and recurring defects, and evaluates their progress.
  • Manages changes to the inspection level, consistent with the Final Inspection Procedure. Supplier quality
  • Participate in the qualification, classification, and evaluation process of vendors (including Tier 2, if applicable) for quality-related aspects.
  • Carry out periodic audits of suppliers deemed critical, define corrective action plans, and monitor their implementation in close collaboration with the Vendor Quality department. Compliance
  • Receive and evaluate supplier test reports, define the independent testing plan in collaboration with the Product Compliance Manager and, if required, ensure its execution at approved local laboratories
  • Support the Product Compliance Manager in obtaining the mandatory certificates for export Leadership
  • Participate in the annual planning of QC activities, manage the approved BDG, and report on expenses.
  • Coordinate the inspectors’ attendance schedules at production sites.
  • Oversee performance management, professional development and training programs for all direct and functional reports, ensuring alignment with HR Dept guidelines.
  • Shall comply with all company directives, procedures and service orders and is responsible for informing relevant team members they content and application, ensuring correct implementation within its department. Required knowledge and/or work experience:
  • High school diploma, preferably in a technical field
  • At least 5 years of experience in quality control and quality assurance, preferably in the footwear industry;
  • Excellent knowledge of manufacturing processes;
  • Problem-solving skills and a commitment to continuous improvement
  • Availability for frequent business trips within the Asian production footprint
  • Fluent spoken and written English. Native Chinese speaker, knowledge of a second Asian language will be considered a plus,
  • Good IT skills; knowledge of major office automation packages
