FSQA Manager Opportunity!

Our client, a well-established meat processing and food manufacturing operation, is seeking an FSQA Manager to lead the Food Safety and Quality Assurance function within a USDA-regulated manufacturing facility. Requirements & Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead all food safety and quality assurance programs for a USDA-regulated meat processing facility
  • Manage and develop FSQA Supervisors, Technicians, and Quality team members
  • Ensure compliance with USDA-FSIS regulations, HACCP, GMPs, SSOPs, SQF, BRC, and customer requirements
  • Maintain audit readiness and lead USDA, customer, and third-party audits
  • Investigate quality, food safety, and regulatory issues and implement corrective and preventive actions
  • Oversee environmental monitoring, sanitation verification, product holds, and release programs
  • Analyze quality and food safety metrics to identify trends and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Partner with Operations, Maintenance, Sanitation, and Engineering teams to resolve production and quality-related challenges
  • Lead food safety training programs and foster a strong food safety culture throughout the facility
  • Ensure accurate documentation, recordkeeping, and regulatory compliance across all manufacturing areas

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of food manufacturing experience, preferably within meat or protein processing
  • Strong USDA-FSIS, HACCP, GMP, and food safety systems experience
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing FSQA teams in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience leading customer, regulatory, and third-party audits
  • Strong root cause analysis, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational abilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality management systems

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Animal Science, Meat Science, Microbiology, or related field
  • SQF Practitioner, HACCP Certification, PCQI, or similar food safety credentials
  • Experience with BRC, SQF, or GFSI-certified facilities
  • Previous Continuous Improvement or Lean Manufacturing experience
