Key
Responsibilities
Perform routine inspections and audits of production processes, facilities, and products to ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards (e.g., GMP, HACCP, SQF, or FSMA).
Monitor and verify critical control points (CCPs) to ensure compliance with HACCP plans.
Conduct product sampling, testing, and analysis to evaluate quality metrics, such as temperature, pH, moisture content, and packaging integrity.
Record and maintain accurate documentation of quality and safety checks, audit findings, and corrective actions.
Assist in the investigation and resolution of quality complaints, deviations, and non-conformance issues.
Ensure sanitation procedures and cleaning protocols are implemented and followed.
Collaborate with production, operations, and management teams to promote food safety and quality culture.
Stay informed on industry best practices and changes in food safety regulations.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in food science, microbiology, or a related field is preferred.
1-2 years of experience in a food production, quality assurance, or food safety role.
Knowledge of food safety regulations (e.g., USDA, FDA, FSMA) and quality standards (e.g., HACCP, SQF).
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Proficiency in data collection and analysis, with experience using Microsoft Office or similar tools.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and communicate with diverse teams.
Certification in HACCP, SQF, or other food safety standards is a plus.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
Comfortable working in varying environments, including cold storage or production areas.
Ability to lift up to 50lbs as needed.
