Job Description

The Quality Control Representative will collect and record data, write detailed notes on work progress and work completion, and take numerous pictures to develop a comprehensive record for each property completed for debris removal activities. Quality Assurance Representatives must not provide direction or guidance to Contractor or Crews during the Mission. Quality Assurance Representative will report directly to Quality Assurance Supervisor and Quality Assurance Manager. Quality Assurance Representatives are responsible for observing and reporting on debris removal activities to ensure compliance with Government Scopes of Work, Safety Requirements (EM 385-1-1), and established best management practices.

Work Area:

General geographical work area includes Palisades, Altadena, Pasadena and other areas throughout Los Angeles County. Physical locations may include damaged or destroyed structures, landfills, and other disposal site locations.

Work Schedule:

7 days a week up to 10/12 hours a day

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

– Participate in a project orientation to gain a comprehensive understanding of the project scope and the quality assurance program. This will involve implementing policies and procedures to safeguard against activities that fall outside the project’s boundaries.

– Engage in a “shadowing” program to gain hands-on experience in project and QA responsibilities.

– Monitor and electronically capture documentation related to the operation and eligibility of debris. This includes collecting and staging various types of debris, hauling them to either a temporary debris management site or a final disposal facility, reducing vegetative debris at the temporary debris management site, and finally hauling out the reduced debris to the final disposal facility.

– Document the condition of the property, roads in the immediate vicinity, and public and private property on which crews work.

– Collaborate closely with government and third-party supervisors, crew foremen, equipment operators, archeological monitors, debris monitors, safety officers, project managers, and client representatives.

– Utilize project-provided electronic devices, such as tablets, phones, printers, and other relevant tools, to document all debris removal activities and take photos.

– Ensure the timely and accurate submission of timecard entries for invoicing purposes to the government.

Education and Skills Experience:

· Minimum of a high school diploma.

· 2+ years of experience in construction inspection, quality assurance, or a related field with a fundamental understanding of construction methods, equipment and materials types and safety protocols.

· Prefer 2+ years disaster recovery and/or wildfire debris removal project experience.

· Strong communication skills including writing and spelling.

· Technological literate using various phone and tablet applications.

· Keen accuracy and attention to detail are essential to supplying Government with decision critical information.

· Work independently, collaboratively, and safely in/around heavy equipment and trucks.

· Possess empathy, compassionate, and calm demeanor – may encounter public and property owners that have suffered great loss.

· Must be safety conscious, punctual and reliable.

· Must have a valid driver license and safe driving history.

· Must have your own cell phone.

· Must be able to travel to various work locations within the recovery area.

· Must pass drug screening and background check.

· Provide proof of citizenship or authorization to work in the U.S.

Physical Requirements:

· Repetitive motion of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.

· Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, bend, kneel, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

· Able to sit and stand for prolonged periods in an office environment or outdoors under cold or hot and humid conditions.

· Able to lift 50 pounds safely.

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary

Pay: $25.00 – $35.00 per hour
