The Functional Tester is responsible for ensuring software products meet functional requirements and quality standards through comprehensive testing across multiple platforms, including iOS, Android, Web, and Web Applications. This role collaborates closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Developers, and other QA team members throughout the Agile software development lifecycle to design, execute, and maintain effective test cases, identify defects, and validate business requirements. The Functional Tester contributes to continuous quality improvement by supporting user aceptance testing, maintaining test environments, and recommending enhancements to QA processes and methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and interpret business and technical requirements to ensure complete test coverage.
- Design, develop, maintain, and execute functional and non-functional test cases for applications across iOS, Android, Web, and Web platforms.
- Define, review, and clarify acceptance criteria in collaboration with the assigned Agile Squad.
- Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Collaborate closely with Development teams to deliver high-quality, defect-free software.
- Identify, document, prioritize, and validate defects through resolution and closure.
- Communicate testing progress, risks, issues, and overall quality status in a timely and effective manner.
- Partner with business stakeholders to plan, coordinate, and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Configure and maintain test data, including user profiles, account balances, and testing environments for Test and Certification environments.
- Develop and maintain both manual and automated test cases where applicable.
- Recommend improvements to QA processes, testing methodologies, and automation opportunities to increase quality, efficiency, and productivity.
- Support quality metrics collection and reporting to provide visibility into testing progress and product quality.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience in software quality assurance with a focus on functional testing.
- Experience designing and executing manual test cases; experience with automated testing is preferred.
- Experience testing web, mobile (iOS and Android), and web-based applications.
- Experience using test management and defect tracking tools such as JIRA and Xray.
- Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Experience supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities.
