Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Test Planning & Execution
✔ Develop and execute
detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts
based on functional requirements.
✔ Conduct
functional, regression, system, and user acceptance testing (UAT)
.
✔ Ensure
comprehensive test coverage
for web applications, APIs, and system integrations.
Manual Testing & Defect Management
✔ Perform
manual testing
to validate software functionality.
✔ Identify, document, and track
defects
using tools like
JIRA, TestRail, or Quality Centre
.
✔ Collaborate with
developers and business analysts
to resolve defects efficiently.
Collaboration with Development & Business Teams
✔ Work closely with
developers, product managers, and stakeholders
to understand business requirements.
✔ Provide feedback and ensure that solutions meet both
technical and user needs
.
✔ Participate in
sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives
in an Agile environment.
Test Documentation & Reporting
✔ Maintain
clear and concise test documentation
, including test plans, test cases, and defect reports.
✔ Generate detailed
test reports
and provide feedback on potential risks or issues.
Continuous Improvement & Compliance
✔ Advocate for
best testing practices, methodologies, and process improvements
.
✔ Ensure compliance with
GOV.UK digital standards and the DDAT framework
.
Technical Skills & Experience
✔
5+ years
of experience in
functional and manual testing
.
✔ Strong knowledge of
software testing methodologies and SDLC
.
✔ Hands-on experience with
test management tools
(e.g.,
JIRA, TestRail, Quality Centre
).
✔ Understanding of
API testing (Postman, REST Assured)
.
✔ Familiarity with
Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban)
and working in Agile teams.
✔ Experience in testing
web applications, databases (SQL, PostgreSQL), and cloud environments
