Position: Global Head of Compliance Assurance
Location: New York
The Global Head of Compliance Assurance role is a key position within the global compliance team, focused on leading the Compliance Assurance Program worldwide. The individual will identify, assess, and prioritize key compliance risks, collaborating closely with stakeholders and regional and local compliance officers to develop risk mitigation strategies and action plans.
Working alongside the Global Chief Compliance Officer and the Compliance Assurance Solution Architect, this role will assist in redesigning the current annual Compliance Plan, reviewing existing compliance risk and control taxonomies, and executing the ongoing Compliance Assurance Program. The role also involves coordinating with RCOs and LCOs to monitor and report on regulatory changes and their implementation.
A crucial aspect of this role is applying a strategic approach to managing operational compliance risks, transitioning from manual, point-in-time assurance to continuous monitoring solutions and exception-based reporting. This includes leveraging management information and analytics, identifying technological solutions to enhance monitoring, and implementing a new Governance, Risk, and Compliance platform.
The candidate should be dynamic, business- and solutions-oriented, with experience in operational and compliance risk management. A mindset geared towards continuous improvement, understanding regulatory requirements, and integrating regulatory controls into business processes is essential. The individual must effectively manage the compliance assurance program across regional and local teams and collaborate with various business areas.
Responsibilities
The role reports to the Global Chief Compliance and Business Ethics Officer, Global Compliance, and encompasses:
Implementing and executing the annual compliance risk monitoring and assurance plan, ensuring adherence to schedule and adjusting plans as necessary in collaboration with management;
Building and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships to communicate findings and test results clearly and ensure timely remediation;
Participating in the review and redesign of the Global Compliance Assurance Framework, including updating risk and control taxonomies, assurance programs, and developing management and reporting artifacts, dashboards, and key indicators;
Reviewing risk assessment and assurance methodologies, exploring opportunities for automation and continuous monitoring;
Collaborating with risk domain owners and Internal Audit to review governance, control design, and effectiveness, especially in digital transformation areas;
Monitoring regulatory changes, conducting gap analyses, and reporting on impacts and implementation statuses;
Having 8+ years of experience in insurance operations, risk, compliance, or internal audit, with a focus on risk/control management and assurance;
Developing processes, procedures, and control testing protocols;
Understanding business processes, regulatory environments, and compliance risks;
Managing relationships across all organizational levels;
Engaging effectively in a multi-national environment;
Managing time efficiently to produce high-quality outputs within deadlines;
Utilizing problem-solving, analytical, and reporting skills to aid leadership in managing compliance risks effectively;
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word and PowerPoint, for report creation.
The role’s salary range is $165,000 to $280,500, with the specific offer depending on skills and other factors. The position may also include participation in a discretionary annual incentive program. A comprehensive benefits package is offered, with details available upon request. The disclosed pay range may be adjusted based on geographic location.
