Elevation Recruitment are working with a leading vehicle manufacturer within a regulated engineering environment to recruit a Homologation Engineer. This is a key role responsible for ensuring all products meet relevant UK and European legislation, industry standards, and approval requirements. You will take ownership of homologation activities, support audits, and play a pivotal role in embedding compliance across the full product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities Regulatory Compliance & Homologation Lead homologation activities across all product models, ensuring full compliance with:
Whole Vehicle Type Approval (WVTA) and/or Individual Vehicle Approval (IVA) EU and UNECE regulations Industry codes of practice and approval schemes UK Construction & Use Regulations Act as the internal subject matter expert on regulatory compliance Stay up to date with current and emerging legislation Documentation & Certification Prepare and manage all technical documentation required for approvals Maintain accurate and auditable records including:
Type approvals Test reports Certificates of conformity Ensure document control aligns with quality systems and audit requirements Audit & Compliance Support and act as a key contact during external audits and inspections Ensure adherence to industry approval schemes, including:
Product specification compliance Build quality and safety standards Documentation and traceability Support internal and external audits, including:
Conformity of Production (CoP) Third-party regulatory inspections Drive audit readiness across the business Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with Engineering, Design, and Production teams to embed compliance at every stage Provide guidance on resolving compliance issues and non-conformances Continuous Improvement & Risk Management Identify compliance risks and implement corrective and preventative actions Monitor regulatory changes and assess their impact on the business Support ongoing improvements in product safety, quality, and compliance Key Accountabilities Products meet all relevant regulatory and industry standards prior to release Successful audit outcomes with minimal non-conformances Accurate and up-to-date homologation documentation Clear communication of regulatory requirements across the organisation About You Essential:
Proven experience in homologation, regulatory compliance, or type approval within a manufacturing environment Strong knowledge of WVTA / I
