HMI Hotel Group is in the process of rebranding 4 of its Full Service hotels to Marriott, 3 to Courtyard by Marriott, and 3 to ANA Crowne Plaza by IHG with an opening schedule for 2025 and 2026.

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic individual to join our team as a Hotel General Manager.

 

As the Hotel General Manager, you will function as the primary strategic business leader with responsibility for all aspects of operation, including guest satisfaction, human resources, financial performance, sales and revenue generation and delivering a return on investment. Verifies implementation of the brand service strategy and brand initiatives with the objective of meeting or exceeding guest expectations, increased profit and market share. Holds property leadership team accountable for strategy execution, and guides their individual professional development. The position ensures all sales engines are leveraged and initiate independent and proactive sales activities to generate demand. Proactively communicate, setting and managing expectations and delivering solid business results. The position is actively involved in the local community and build strong relationships with local officials, businesses, and customers.

 

Education and Experience:

Bachelors degree from an accredited university in Hotel Management or related major; 10 years experience in a management role overseeing operations, sales and marketing, finance and accounting and/or related professional area; including 3+ years as Hotel Manager / Resort Manager / Director of Operations with a global hotel brand

 

Preferred:

Hotel Manager experience in full-service property (hotels/resorts), global brand

Pre-opening and / or conversion experience an added advantage

Japan Work Experience an added advantage

Basic or Intermediate proficiency in Japanese language is a plus

 

Key Task:

Strategic Leadership: Business strategy development and strategy execution.

Sales & Marketing: Actively pursue sales growth along with team, develop tailored approach, identify new business leads, leverage sales engines to optimize results and drive demand.

Talent Management: Create a cohesive and higher performance executive committee and leadership team that strives for positive results and improvement.

Business Acumen: Review market share, financial performance, employee engagement and customer satisfaction to elevate overall performance.

Guest Satisfaction: Interact with guest frequently, obtain feedback, implement innovative ways to exceed guest expectations, driving positive top line.

Standards: Ensure hotel compliance to safety, legal, operations, labour and brand standards are maintained with routine audits and checks.
