Position Overview
The Hotel Room Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all guest rooms meet CODA Williamsburg’s standards for cleanliness, presentation, maintenance, and overall guest readiness. This position works closely with the Housekeeping and Front Office teams to identify and resolve issues before rooms are released for arriving guests.
The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, organized, dependable, and understands that the smallest details can make a significant difference in a guest’s experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect guest rooms, bathrooms, hallways, and other assigned areas to ensure they meet hotel cleanliness and presentation standards.
- Conduct detailed inspections of cleaned rooms before releasing them for sale or occupancy.
- Check beds, linens, towels, floors, furniture, windows, mirrors, bathrooms, amenities, and overall room presentation.
- Ensure rooms are properly stocked with all required guest amenities and supplies.
- Identify maintenance issues, damages, missing items, or safety concerns and communicate them promptly to the appropriate department.
- Follow up on reported maintenance issues to ensure they are resolved before the room is returned to service.
- Ensure housekeeping staff are following established cleaning procedures and hotel standards.
- Communicate room status updates accurately with the Front Office and Housekeeping teams.
- Assist with prioritizing rooms based on arrivals, VIP guests, early check-ins, and operational needs.
- Inspect vacant rooms periodically to ensure they remain in proper condition.
- Report discrepancies between room status and actual room condition.
- Help maintain consistent standards throughout the hotel and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Provide feedback and coaching to housekeeping team members when standards are not met.
- Assist with quality-control checks and housekeeping-related projects as needed.
- Maintain professionalism and discretion when working around guests and within guest rooms.
- Follow all hotel policies, safety procedures, and sanitation standards.
Qualifications
- Previous hotel housekeeping, room inspection, or hospitality experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness.
- Ability to recognize quality and presentation issues that may be overlooked by others.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with Housekeeping and Front Office teams.
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced hotel environment.
- Reliable, punctual, and professional.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and move throughout the hotel for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and move items as required for the position.
- Knowledge of hotel room cleaning standards and procedures is a plus.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Schedule
