About The Role

We are seeking a dedicated Human Resources Generalist to join our team in San Diego, CA. This role is vital in supporting the management team through full-cycle recruiting, employee onboarding, payroll management, and HR compliance. The ideal candidate will be customer-service oriented, detail-driven, and committed to maintaining a safe and compliant workplace. As a Human Resources Generalist at Transdev, you will play a key role in ensuring our workforce is well-supported, compliant with regulations, and aligned with the company’s safety standards. This position requires flexibility in working hours and the ability to operate effectively in outdoor environments, often in remote locations and varying weather conditions.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of Human Resources experience.
  • College coursework in a related field preferred.
  • Computer-literate with intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts or schedules as needed.
  • Subject to DOT drug testing and physical requirements if applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle recruiting processes, including reviewing applications, scheduling interviews, and hiring candidates using the Jobvite Applicant Tracking System.
  • Create and maintain accurate employee files, ensuring all new hire EEO/AAP documentation and onboarding paperwork are completed properly.
  • Oversee payroll processing for drivers and staff, including managing leaves of absence and FMLA tracking.
  • Educate employees regarding benefits options and assist with benefits administration.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks to ensure compliance with background checks, drug and alcohol screening, and E-Verify requirements.
  • Support internal and external transfer requests, facilitating smooth transitions for employees.
  • Perform other HR-related duties as required to support operational needs.

Physical Requirements

This role involves outdoor work in varying temperatures, weather, and humidity conditions. The position is performed 100% outdoors, often in remote locations, requiring the ability to work alone. Physical tasks include sitting for extended periods, walking long distances on uneven surfaces, pushing and pulling objects up to 50 lbs., and occasionally lifting materials of similar weight. The candidate must be able to bend, kneel, or crouch to access files or equipment stored at ground level. Additionally, exposure to dust, vehicle fumes, and noise in traffic-heavy areas is common.
