The role we are seeking to fulfill is Production Supervisor / Quality Manager for a second shift of daytime production. It is located at our headquarter facility where all three partners – Wolf Development, Wolf Architecture, and Wolf Fabrication reside. The roll is specific to Wolf Fabrication and is primarily in our factory where we produce and assemble prefabricated light gauge steel wall and floor systems. These, along with other construction materials, are delivered to the job site as precoordinated shipments for an extremely efficient and quality build process.

The role of Production Supervisor / Quality Manager at Wolf Partners involves leading production in our brand-new fabrication facility, from receiving raw material to shipping the finished product, and everything that happens in between. You should expect a fast-paced and rewarding position with plenty of room for growth and advancement.

Your Background

Experience:

· Minimum three to five years in manufacturing, quality control, steel fabrication, or similar position

· Supervisor, management, or leadership experience required.

· Construction, project management, shipping and receiving, and engineering preferred but not required.

Education:

· Minimum high school diploma required.

Skills:

· Strong leadership and analytical skills with a passion for quality and continuous improvement.

· Excellent proficiency with quality control inspection and machine operation.

· Skilled with hand and power tools and machine maintenance/repair.

· History of working successfully with employees from an efficient production capacity.

· Displays basic knowledge of building systems and assemblies, and engineering concepts.

Language

· Proficient in English (required)

· Spanish (preferred but not required).

Your Role

The Production Supervisor reports to the Operations Manager. The Production Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day manufacturing and associated quality control, safety, inventory and operations of Wolf Fabrication Partners manufacturing / production facility from material procurement through final inspection and release of finished product for packaging and shipping. The Production Supervisor’s responsibilities include:

Appoint daily roles/responsibilities of assembly foreman, machine operator, and shipping/packaging/ receiving personnel
Understand standard operating procedures with the ability to reference them when completing processes.
Ensure that factory employees are properly trained in safety and standard operational procedures during onboarding, regular production, and for any reoccurring training or process changes.
Assign and be able to perform tasks when there is downtime to maintain a safe, clean, and productive working environment with a focus on continuous improvement and production preparedness.
Participate in occasional process audits with employees and Operations Manager to implement changes focused on continuous improvement.
Uphold a cleanliness standard, which involves following strict facility and machine maintenance schedules.
Actively look for and implement techniques to improve quality of work and efficiency. Involves leading consistent factory 5S walkthroughs to maintain efficient space utilization.
Monitor facility compliance with product storage requirements.
Confirm that material receiving activities comply with the standard process and are accurate.
Review documents supplied by vendors against the Bill of Lading, ensuring that received materials meet / exceed the applicable material specifications.
Understand machine programs and functions to properly load and organize jobs and fix systematic issues.
Create Roll Form Work Orders combining members of the same material specifications and section profile requirements to minimize machine set up changes and adjustments during production as time and production deadlines permit.
Designate whether a panel is to be shop-assembled or banded as a kit for field assembly. Coordinate panel bundling and staging for appropriate shipping and site delivery requirements.
Monitor / verify quality control of produced framing members by verifying submittals of all member test forms.
Monitor / verify completed panel kits, panel assemblies, etc. are complete and in compliance with member & project specifications before shipment.
Implement all training, inspection, and calibration of measuring equipment, and the tracking thereof, as it relates to what the machines produce as finished products.
Implement programs so that responsible employees understand the applicable operational and testing procedures with regards to their stage of manufacturing of the cold-formed steel members.
Monitor all sections of the QC manual through verification of procedures with responsible employees.
Keep complete records of all tests and inspections for a minimum of two (2) years and participate in an annual internal audit to verify compliance with all procedures.
Has final signoff and/or initialing of routing approval for all day-to-day production reports and / or documentation, such as work orders, inspection forms, maintenance checklists, etc.
Notify the Operations Manager of any quality complaints from site or during production. Properly documents complaints with the operations manager.
Communicate with site personnel to organize deliveries/pickups.
Maintain shop safety standards, PPE stock, and ensure employees are abiding by shop safety requirements. Includes maintaining material handling procedures and other accident prevention
Create bills of lading and keep a record for 2 years.
Perform monthly machine exports of the production, waste, and coil log on each machine after the first of every month.
Perform an inventory count at the end of each quarter and as necessary when preparing for a new job’s material purchase or updating inventory levels. Understands fabrication AND construction materials.
Maintain an inventory adjustment sheet to be submitted at the end of each week if inventoried materials have been received or moved.
Assess inventory values of consumable stock and notify the operations manager when reorder points are hit.
In charge of moving inventory from main stock to consumable inventory.
Maintain inventory organization.
Assess scrap levels and schedules scrap return shipments to minimize effect on production downtimes/shipping requirements
Coordinate other waste disposal according to local and federal regulations as outlined in Wolf’s waste disposal programs.
Lead machine maintenance procedures outside of daily maintenance that is regularly performed by the roll form operator. This might include repairs or adjustments. Consult with the operation manager when parts or major repairs/adjustments must be made.
Intermittently step in for the operation manager when needed for tasks such as purchasing, inventory adjustments, booking truck drivers, and creating/fulfilling pick lists.
Track temporary or contracted laborer’s hours and ensure they are reporting accurately. Grant access to the building at the start of shifts. Report on these hours weekly.
Maintain on hand amounts of shop documents and ensure maintenance schedules are up to date.
Organize production scheduling with Operations Manager.
Update the shop white board weekly/daily to coordinate production scheduling, inbound/outbound deliveries, scrap runs, shop improvements, events, time off, etc. and ensure that employees abide by it
Report to the Operations Manager with any quality issues, machine downtime, received materials, and logistic scheduling.
Have sufficient vision, hearing, and verbal communication to maintain a safe working environment.
Perform all physical laborious tasks without limitations and for the purposes of training employees on all facets of production including lifting materials up to 200 Lbs. as needed, being on your feet for up to 3 hours at a time, using most hand and power tools, and performing tasks while wearing personal protective gear.

Hours

This position is required to be in attendance from 1PM to 9:30 PM Monday through Friday. Two paid 15-minute breaks and one unpaid 30 minute lunch break are required, totaling 8 hours of paid working time per day (40 hours per week).

Salary

This position has a minimum hourly salary of $22.00 per hour, with the potential for non-obligation overtime pay and holiday pay opportunities. Each candidate will be evaluated by their qualifications, relevant work experience, and skills, and compensated accordingly.
