Incoming Quality Inspector (Contract) – Plymouth, MI
Location: 100% onsite | Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM-4:30 PM ET
Contract through January 2, 2026
We’re partnered with an innovative company in the mobility/manufacturing sector that is seeking an Incoming Quality Inspector to support critical prototype-level builds. This role is based fully onsite in Plymouth, MI. This is a W2 contracting opportunity, and as a w2 contract worker you are eligible to a benefits package including health/dental/vision/life insurance, a 401k vehicle and more.
Pay rate: $/hr
Key Responsibilities:
Perform incoming inspections on prototype components such as gears, castings, harnesses, laminations, shafts, and molded parts
Conduct visual checks for rust, porosity, missing components, or surface damage
Measure critical dimensions using calipers, gages, and other precision tools
Review certifications and verify ISIR data
Interpret technical documents including engineering drawings, bills of material, and specifications
Document findings, verify product configuration, and flag necessary rework actions
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Experience with mechanical assembly or inspection
Proficient in reading and interpreting technical documentation
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Comfortable using inspection tools such as microscopes, calipers, and mechanical/electronic gages
High school diploma or equivalent
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Basic math skills and computer proficiency (Windows, MS Office)
Preferred Experience:
CMM machine operation
IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification
Understanding of Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) protocols
