Location: Torrington, CT
Job Type: Temp-to-Perm
Pay: $18.00/hour (Up to $20/hr. for candidates with strong precision inspection experience)
Available Shifts
1st Shift:
Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM
Pay: $18.00/hour
2nd Shift:
Monday–Friday, 2:30 PM–11:00 PM
Pay: $18.00/hour
Candidates hired for 2nd shift must be available to train on 1st shift for approximately 3 months.
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Inspector to perform precision inspections of manufactured components and ensure products meet established quality standards and specifications. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical inspection skills, excellent attention to detail, good manual dexterity, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform inspections using a variety of mechanical measurement devices, including calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, torque gauges, internal clearance gauges, hardness testers, and other inspection equipment.
- Set up and/or verify proper settings of mechanical measurement devices using master standards.
- Operate computer-aided measurement equipment, including vision systems, surface finish analyzers, roundness gauges, and other inspection technologies.
- Inspect components to verify conformance with established specifications and quality requirements.
- Maintain accurate quality records related to manufacturing and inspection processes.
- Scan, verify, and retrieve quality records from electronic databases and storage locations.
- Organize, review, and prepare manufacturing routers for scanning and maintain hard-copy quality files.
- Work closely with production and quality personnel to meet customer and production deadlines.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Move parts between departments as needed.
- Work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure manufacturing environment.
Requirements
- US Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident (LPR) only.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Good manual dexterity and steady hands for handling sensitive components.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Previous inspection or precision measurement experience is preferred.
- Experience using calipers, micrometers, gauges, or other precision measurement equipment is highly preferred.
