The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible to perform quality inspections of products before processing and public release. In this position your primary role is testing the different types of formulas, but with your focus on ensuring products are in compliance with safety and internal standards. You should operate under good manufacturing practices (GMP), and be familiar with the HACCP and Juice HACCP system. Our ideal applicant has several years of experience with Quality Control.

Qualification Requirements

● High School Diploma or Equivalent Certification (ex. GED)

● Previous manufacturing knowledge of HACCP, Juice HACCP, SQF, and GMP (highly

preferred)

● Proficiency in basic computer skills

● Must be able to lift 50 lbs

● Must be able to work in different type of temperatures

● Must be able to perform physical tasks for extended periods of time including: standing,

walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling and twisting over surfaces

● Willing and able to work any shift schedule, including weekends.

Responsibilities & Skills

● Trained on or able to train on laboratory equipment including but not limited to

refractometers, CO2 meters, scales, pH meters, water activity meters, temperature

probes and gauges, and more.

● Responsible for programming, documenting, monitoring, and maintaining critical control

points (CCP).

● Responsible for monitoring product food safety and quality throughout the manufacturing

process.

● Responsible for performing sanitation verification, ATP and allergen testing on

equipment and other areas required.

● Available to adhere all GMP and Pack Labs policies

● Responsible for correctly recording, maintaining and filing of all relevant record logs,

inspection reports and all other relevant documentation.

● Ensures the correct recipe guidelines for products are met during processing.

● Responsible for following and ensuring other employees are following all Food Safety

and worker safety practices.

● Ensures and educates employees on HACCP, Juice HACCP and SQF standards.

● Collect product samples for product development, client samples, lab retains and the

laboratory as directed.

● Perform inspections on products, equipment and machinery.

● Ensure compliance to federal and state laws, as well as company and client standards

and specifications.

● Maintain and record calibration of quality control equipment.

● Perform inspections across all stages of production.

● Record and maintain test data for review.

● Evaluate data and draft reports, noting any relevant deviations from existing standards.

● Communicate critical control point (CCP), quality, deviation or compliance concerns with

urgency.

Ability to analyze and solve problems.

● Ability to work alongside others collaboratively.

● Experience with Microsoft Office (word and excel).

● Organization and time management skills.

● Ability to read, write, and perform fundamental mathematics.

● Monitor and document all production line Q.C. activities as directed by Q.A. manager.

● Immediately report deviations to Operations and Q.A. manager.

● Maintain and report raw material deviations to material standards.

● Conduct various types of quality assurance inspections, visual, organoleptic and/or

chemical.

● Report deviations, inconsistencies, and/or discrepancies to Q.A. manager. Identify

quality issues to line supervisors and recommend a course of action to correct noted

deviations.

● Assure appropriate GMP’s are updated and followed. Including corporate, facility and

governmental standards.

● Assure sanitation standards are met and in compliance with corporate, facility and

governmental standards. Report any identified deviations to Q.A. and Sanitation

managers.

● Train new and existing employees in all areas of GMP’s that affect plant sanitation and

product integrity.

● Conduct as required appropriate lab testing on products, raw materials, and equipment

to assure compliance with quality standards.

● Manage and train QC Technicians to assure Quality Control procedures are monitored

and documented to comply with corporate, facility and government requirements when

needed.

● At the direction of Q.A. Manager, perform quality audits to assure compliance with

GMP’s, HAACP, Juice HACCP, facility and regulatory requirements.

● Monitor, preform and record including but not limited to brix, pH, CO2, seam, specific

gravity, titratable acidity (TA), ascorbic acid test and evaluations.
