Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quality Assurance Consultant to help grow our soil and groundwater investigation and remediation practices. This position has the potential to work from one of our U.S based offices such as: Boca Raton, FL, Richmond, VA or any of our other offices; a hybrid schedule or remotely from your home-office at the discretion of the Company. This is a unique opportunity to join Geosyntec’s national Navy contract leadership team (based in Columbia, MD) and work with Navy and other Federal contract project managers to ensure that Geosyntec projects are prepared and delivered in full compliance with Federal policy and guidance regarding Uniform Federal Policy – Quality Assurance Project Plans (UFP-QAPP).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Is this the right position to help you achieve your professional goals? We expect that you’d work on a variety of challenging technical projects and leverage your existing relationships to help Geosyntec expand its current practices and capabilities, particularly in the Federal sector environmental investigation and remediation arena. Some of the task-level or project management responsibilities you will be asked to do include:
Task and project management, including planning and conducting preparation of UFP-compliant SAPs / QAPPs, budgeting and budget management, adherence to schedule, quality, client satisfaction, and profitability;
Business development; including bringing in new clients and obtaining repeat business from existing clients, leading proposal preparation, and developing and implementing a business development plan;
Preparing UFP-compliant SAPs / QAPPs, technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals;
Reviewing and managing written documents drafted by others, including UFP-compliant SAPs / QAPPs;
Leading audits / inspections of environmental investigation field teams to assess compliance with UFP SAP/QAPP requirements;
Leading audits of commercial analytical laboratories to evaluate compliance with ELAP and UFP-QAPP requirements;
Preparing for and participating in meetings with clients, regulatory personnel, and other parties; and
Preparing and delivering presentations for clients, regulatory personnel, Geosyntec colleagues, and/or external conference audiences.
Training: This position requires OSHA/MSHA health and safety, first aid, and CPR training and medical monitoring, paid for by the firm. We also offer professional development opportunities including technical conferences, in-house seminars, webinars, and mentoring, that allow our professionals to build the technical and business skills necessary to become successful consultants.
Field work: Up to 5%
Overnight travel: Up to 10%
Education and Licensure:
Bachelor’s degree in chemistry (aquatic, organic, inorganic, or environmental) or Earth Science (geology or hydrogeology). (required)
Advanced degree in the same. (preferred)
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
At least 15 years of professional experience preparing and/or reviewing UFP-compliant SAPs and QAPPs for Navy and/or other Federal agencies. (required)
Strong working knowledge of current regulations and Federal policies applicable to UFP-QAPP, Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Programs (ELAP), as well as environmental sampling and analysis for PFAS, vapor intrusion investigations, and multi-increment sampling (MIS) methods for soil. (required).
Strong working knowledge of regulations applicable to soil, soil gas, and groundwater quality under the CERCLA and RCRA programs. (required)
Experience performing audits of environmental investigation field teams to assess compliance with SAP / QAPP standards in the field. (required)
Experience performing laboratory audits evaluating compliance with ELAP and UFP-QAPP requirements. (preferred)
Experience with multi-disciplinary project teams. (required)
Demonstrated success in developing effective long-term project and partnering relationships with Federal stakeholders. (required)
Excellent leadership skills. (required)
Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handle multiple project assignments, meet strict deadlines, and travel to client facilities as needed. (required)
Demonstrated effective public speaking skills.
Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers. (preferred)
Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record. (required)
