Job Description:
The Customer Quality Engineer will be responsible for receiving, triaging, problem solving and communicating solutions to quality issues reported by Sparkstone customers. They are the initial points of contact Sparkstone’s commercial team when quality issues arise, and they work with Operations, Sales, Engineering, Sourcing and Quality Assurance to identify rapid containment countermeasures to communicate back to the customer and then identifying root cause(s) and implementing prevention countermeasures.
Key Responsibilities:
Receive reports of quality issues reported by Sparkstone’s customers
Organize and track all quality issues to ensure rapid response to the customer
Determine action to take on quality issues to ensure rapid response to the customer
Organize and deploy field services to the customer site or field location if necessary
Communicate quality response to the customer
Work with other Sparkstone team members to determine root causes of quality issues and ensure that robust prevention countermeasures are implemented
Develop strong relationships with customers to ensure that they know they have a contact to approach that will be responsive and accountable to quality issues
Share knowledge of quality issues, their root causes and solutions across the organization to facilitate knowledge sharing
Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
Significant experience (preferably 10+ years) in Electrical Distribution equipment design, operation and troubleshooting – Previous Field Service/repair/troubleshooting work preferred
Excellent Communication skills – both written and verbal – with a focus on understanding how to convey the right message to the right audience
Organized and able to operate well in a fast-paced environment and juggle multiple issues concurrently
Excellent relationship-builder with a reputation for accountability
Occasional travel and off-hours work required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $110,000.00 – $130,000.00 per year
