Summary Description:
Inspect and identify problems with products at various stages of the manufacturing process and evaluate internal and customer data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products.
Essential Functions:
-Analyze product process and manufacturing methods, establish and document production standards, monitor deviations, and recommend corrective actions.
-Actively participate in prototyping new products and communication to customers on results.
-Provide data to define and resolve customer issues and perform root cause analysis.
-Review and provide input on product and tool design to meet customer blueprints for manufacturability and cost effectiveness.
-Ensure all company and customer owned tooling is properly cared for and that all appropriate qualification measures of the tools take place and are documented.
-Serve as customer contact for quality-related communications, including return goods authorization, surveys, and requests for waiver of deviation, etc.
-Review all manufacturing processes to ensure that daily production achieves quoted parameters, including quality and scrap rates.
-Provide interpretation of quality requirements within the foundry to various dept employees.
-Ability to utilize testing equipment and prepare reports to meet customer requirements.
Skills or Experience Required:
A.A.S. in related engineering discipline is required, we will consider equivalent work experience within the foundry industry. Two to five years of manufacturing experience is required. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required. Must have a strong desire to be on the shop floor.
Other Position Requirements:
Tool maker/patternmaker experience is a plus. Previous quality engineering positions are desirable. Communicate with customers on all aspects of the products and/or tooling. Must have strong interpersonal skills including being capable of working with others in the resolution of problems.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year
