MVID is looking for a highly motivated and creative Design Assistant to join our team.
Applicants should be creative and productive forward thinkers that work well in a team environment.
Applicants should be well versed in the interior design process from concept phase, design development, and sourcing and selection, through procurement, production and installation.
Professional level proficiency in Auto CAD is required.
MVID Design Assistants report to the Principal and works closely with Interior Designers / Project Managers daily.
This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary and benefits package.
Responsibilities include:
Works closely with the Lead Designers/Project Managers assisting with all phases of the design process from concept to installation.
Prepares presentations for client meetings per Lead Designer’s direction.
Requests samples and pro-forma quotes from vendors for furnishings, fixtures, and finishes
Ensures documents, work orders, and presentations are completed per the project timeline and follow the company’s standard operating procedures.
Facilitates site measurements and installations with subcontractors and prepares work-orders for workrooms per the direction of the Lead Designer/Project Manager.
Maintains material sample library and attends meetings with industry reps.
Requirements / Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 year of professional experience in Residential design. Co-Ops qualify!
Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design
Professional level proficiency in AutoCAD, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office
Thrives in a creative and collaborative environment
Easily adapts to changing priorities and tasks
Displays strong organizational and time management skills to meet the requirement of projects and deadlines.
Seeking candidates who are available to start within 3 weeks.
Qualified candidates must be willing to relocate to Martha’s Vineyard. Candidates seeking a remote position need not apply.
