Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Technician to join our team. This is an entry level laboratory job in the Quality Assurance Department. The QA Tech is responsible for performing and documenting basic lab tests and duties to ensure exceptional quality of food products.
Duties
Adhere and enforce GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices) and safety requirements to all personnel in the plant
Proficiently perform and document laboratory tests according to established procedures, including, but not limited to pH, viscosity, color, and solids %
Test and record sanitizer concentration levels
Thoroughly and accurately report monitoring and testing results
Accurately enter laboratory data onto proper log sheets and computer databases/spreadsheets
Collate and file production and lab documents
Communicate with and participate among QA personnel and other departments in all job related activities
Monitor shipping and receiving of materials and product as defined in written company programs
Gather and prepare customer sample requests
Monitor, maintain and properly document key quality parameters, including, but not limited to: critical control points (CCP’s), processing temperatures and adherence to process procedures, container fill weights, temperatures, container coding, container labels, case labels, product and packaging quality, ingredient and packaging traceability and coding
Required Skills
One year of experience in food manufacturing
Good problem solving skills and corrective action/resolution skills
Excellent organization skills, including filing
Ability to count, add, subtract, multiply and divide multiple digit numbers using a calculator
Basic computer skills
Preferred Skills
Bilingual (English/Spanish)
HACCP Training
SQF Experience
