Position: Inventory Control & Quality Assurance Leader – Upper Marlboro, MD (Returns Center)
Job Overview
As an Inventory Control & Quality Assurance (ICQA) Leader, you will oversee assigned ICQA responsibilities and supervise a group of ICQA team members and Inbound Problem Solvers in the execution of quality routines, functions, and research.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, develop, coach, and perform performance management of the training team, including frequent constructive feedback on work quality.
- Guide and direct the team through performance reviews, corrective actions, and terminations as needed.
- Oversee onboarding and completion of required training for new hires.
- Root cause quality defects and pre‑receipt defects within operations.
- Analyze operating methods and procedures to identify gaps in inventory control and quality assurance.
- Lead improvements in inbound receipts, bin and location accuracy, order cancellations, and other quality indicators.
- Identify and escalated vendor trends in pre‑receipt defects and damages.
- Determine appropriate methods and problem‑solving tools, implement new practices and procedures, and lead Kaizen and continuous improvement events.
- Collaborate across operational departments to drive quality goals and meet inventory control metrics.
- Foster an environment in which diverse backgrounds are respected and valued.
Qualifications
- Four‑year degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience in Six‑Sigma, Lean Thinking, Quality Management, Continuous Improvement, or Process Engineering.
- Strong communication, reasoning, and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical, operational research, root‑cause, and problem‑solving skills.
- Proven ability to motivate teams and manage conflict, provide feedback, and develop staff.
- Ability to read, interpret, and effectively communicate necessary policies and procedures to others.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment, and navigate web‑based ICQA reporting and forms (Microsoft SharePoint/Forms/Smartsheet).
Schedule
Schedule will either be:
Sunday through Wednesday approximately 10AM to 10PM OR Wednesday through Saturday approximately 10AM to 10PM. Specific schedule provided at time of offer.
