Quality Control Engineer
PEM, Power Engineering & Mfg. Inc. is a growing actuator manufacturer located in Andover, MN, serving industrial clients nationwide. We are looking to add an experienced Quality Control Engineer to our Operations team, reporting to the Director of Operations.
The Quality Control Engineer is an individual contributor responsible for overseeing our quality management system and ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 standards. The Quality Engineer will be responsible for managing various aspects of quality control, including incoming material inspection, supplier performance tracking, nonconformance management, and corrective actions.
Key Responsibilities: include, but are not limited to:
Oversee incoming material inspection processes to ensure conformity to quality standards.
Track and report supplier and internal quality performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement.
Monitor and report on nonconformance issues, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
Maintain measurement equipment and tools in operational condition, including calibration records and location tracking.
Manage, audit, and improve the ISO 9001 quality management system, acting as the ISO representative for the organization.
Analyze customer returns and provide corrective actions to address quality concerns.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Purchasing, Operations, and Engineering teams to support continuous quality improvement activities.
Maintain document control related to the ISO management system, corrective actions, and related procedures and training records.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualification requirements
Minimum 3 years of experience as a Quality Engineer or Quality Manager in a related field.
4- year degree or equivalent industry experience
Proficiency in blueprint reading, including understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
Strong background in quality engineering and ISO 9001:2015 standards.
Experience with Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) operations.
Ability to use surface plate and hand measuring tools to physically inspect manufactured parts.
Ability to identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Ability to solve complex problems and implement effective solutions.
Advanced user of Microsoft Suite applications.
Strong verbal and written communication.
