In our Greencastle location, we are responsible for packing and shipping eggs to stores all over the United States. The Quality Control Technician will check eggs as they move on the conveyor over light through the candling booth. They will also be responsible for finished goods testing.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide a food safe product for our consumers that meets Pete and Gerry’s Organics, LLC. standards for quality.
Inspecting the eggs at multiple stages of the processing process.
Be aware of the blending changes as lot swaps occur.
Ensure that all egg types are placed into the correct finished goods, the correct dates are being used.
Segregate eggs by dirts for rework and leakers into the waste barrels.
Report any food safety issues to any Supervisor.
Prepare candling booth, testing station, and testing supplies
Collect samples in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring representation of all lanes.
Follow all workplace safety procedures per safety training.
Clean-up work area at days end including sweeping, eggs off floor, pans pulled and dumped, waste eggs dumped, scrapers and buckets picked up and all removed to the cleaning room. This is mandatory for all crew members.
Track green light (down time) to monitor opportunities for reducing downtime.
Assist co-workers as needed – teamwork.
Comply with Food Safety and GMP requirements at all times.
Any and all other duties as assigned.
All issues or non-conformances related to quality assurance or food safety must immediately be reported to the Quality Assurance Manager or departmental supervisor/manager for communication with the Quality Assurance Manager.
REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
Experience in processing environment preferred
Quality inspection and testing experience preferred
