Job Summary
HydroGeoSense, Inc. is seeking an experienced Laboratory Technician to support mineral sample preparation, hydraulic testing, and metallurgical experimentation. This role is suited for a candidate with a background in geological or chemical testing and hands-on experience in research or industrial laboratory settings.
We are looking for a self-directed technician who is comfortable with physical lab work, has experience working with ore materials and test columns, and can follow detailed SOPs with minimal supervision. Candidates must be able to contribute immediately to ongoing experimental programs and maintain the high quality and efficiency standards required for scientific testing and reporting. The person in this role will work closely with other team members across multiple active research programs.
Kay Responsibilities
Prepare and process ore and mineral samples for laboratory analysis, including crushing, screening, drying, and weighing.
Assist in the execution of hydraulic tests (e.g., hydraulic conductivity, moisture content) and metallurgical tests (e.g., agglomeration, column leach experiments).
Set up and maintain experimental apparatus, including instrumentation, columns, reactors, and filtration systems.
Conduct routine measurements such as pH, electrical conductivity, temperature, and solution sampling.
Record experimental observations, maintain accurate data logs, and input data into spreadsheets or databases.
Follow established SOPs and QA/QC protocols to ensure consistent sample handling and testing procedures.
Perform routine laboratory maintenance, cleaning, and inventory management of lab supplies and equipment.
Support troubleshooting of equipment and work collaboratively with the scientific team to improve procedures.
Follow all laboratory safety protocols, including safe handling of chemicals and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Qualifications
Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in Geoscience, Environmental Science, Chemistry, or related field preferred; relevant laboratory or field experience may be substituted.
A minimum of one year of laboratory experience in mineral processing, soil testing, metallurgy, or a related field preferred.
Familiarity with sample handling, experimental setup, and basic measurements.
Comfortable with physical tasks such as lifting, sieving, and standing for extended periods.
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to quality.
Basic computer proficiency, including experience with Excel or data entry software.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a structured lab environment.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 – $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
