Quality Control Job Summary
The Quality Control supports Kaspar Outdoors by inspecting materials, components, and finished products to verify conformance to drawings, specifications, and quality standards. The Quality Control documents results, identifies nonconforming product, and partners with production to support corrective action and continuous improvement.
Quality Control Responsibilities
- Perform receiving, in-process, and final inspections using approved drawings, specifications, and inspection criteria.
- Use precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection tools.
- Document inspection results accurately and maintain clear quality records.
- Identify, segregate, and communicate nonconforming material or product.
- Support root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement activities with manufacturing teams.
- Follow safety, quality, and housekeeping requirements throughout the work area.
- All other duties as assigned by management.
Quality Control Skills and Competencies
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to recognize defects and dimensional variation.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
- Basic understanding of measurement, tolerances, and inspection methods.
- Clear written and verbal communication, sound judgment, organization, and teamwork.
Quality Control Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; technical training or manufacturing coursework preferred.
- Prior quality inspection, machining, fabrication, assembly, or manufacturing experience preferred.
- Experience using precision measurement tools preferred.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with production and quality teams.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, bend and reach as needed, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds while performing inspections.
Work Environment
Work is primarily performed in a manufacturing environment. Required PPE may include safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety footwear.
