Title: Lab Accessioning Coordinator

Ensures the efficient and accurate registration, accessioning, and documentation of patient specimens. Facilitates smooth communication between laboratory sections and external clients, ensures adherence to laboratory accreditation standards, and supports the daily operations of the laboratory while upholding patient confidentiality and safety at all times.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Upholds ethical practices and maintains patient confidentiality
Ensures data collection, entry, and documentation of Laboratory Operations / Quality-related documents required for Laboratory accreditation
Assists in specimen and Outreach Patient registration as required
Collaborates with lab technicians, pathologists, or other lab staff to ensure that specimens are properly directed
Assists in ordering of all reagents, supplies, consumables, and any other inventory item(s) related to the operation of the Laboratory
Provides reception support for the laboratory
Supports transcription, filing, report distribution, and document management
Maintains general office supplies
Participates in laboratory Quality Improvements (QI) activities
Assists with follow-up of incidents/accidents and patient and staff complaints
Engages in the lab monthly focus group
Participates regularly in continuing education activities
Liaises with internal and external laboratory clients as required
Maintains open lines of communication with the Director of Laboratory Services & Outreach, Section Supervisors, colleagues, and other hospital services as needed
Responds to test/report inquiries from laboratory clients
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILL
High School Graduate
Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Minimum of three (3) years of experience in administrative and coordinator positions, preferably within a hospital or clinical laboratory setting within the UAE, preferred
Knowledge of the Joint Commission International Accreditation (JCIA) standards
Skills in computer applications with proficiency in word processing packages (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Internet, and email systems
Ability to speak and write in English fluently.
