Position Overview
This position involves routine testing on samples in the Analytical Services laboratory, providing data for process control, quality control, process development, product development, and waste management.
Responsibilities
Perform routine analytical testing according to protocols and instructions.
Work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Request additional work to improve team productivity.
Prepare solutions, clean glassware, dispose of waste, and support lab operations.
Train others in waste management procedures.
Report issues related to sample integrity, inventory, safety, or analysis irregularities.
Identify and communicate troubleshooting opportunities.
Conduct preventative maintenance and operate laboratory instruments and systems like LIMS and CDS.
Search databases for test methods, specifications, and standards.
Record, calculate, and report analytical results accurately.
Review data and reports, and communicate findings.
Identify process improvements and support continuous improvement projects.
Communicate testing results to customers and monitor supply levels.
Follow safety and housekeeping practices and participate in safety programs.
Maintain knowledge of hazardous waste regulations and respond to spills or leaks.
Qualifications
Required:
High school diploma plus at least 1 year of lab experience.
Good communication skills.
Attention to detail and analytical skills.
Ability to diagnose basic instrument problems and assist others.
Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
Preferred:
3+ years of lab experience.
Understanding of HPLC and GC operations.
Compensation and Benefits
The hourly rate is approximately $30.36, with potential bonuses or commissions. Benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement plans, PTO, and sick leave. Salary may vary based on location, experience, and qualifications.
