DESCRIPTION: The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for creating and preparing the proper quality paperwork associated with products supplied to customers.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work with the Quality Team to develop and determine product quality standards
Record and maintain inspection reports and documentation
Ensure compliance to federal and state laws as well as company standards and specifications
Maintain calibration of quality control equipment
Perform inspections across all stages of production
Prepare and maintain test data for review
Evaluate data and draft reports, noting any relevant deviations from existing standards
Identify areas for quality control improvement and implement new methods accordingly
Communicate quality or compliance concerns with urgency
Prepare and package samples for testing, retention, and sales
Assist with functions of the R&D and QC lab as needed
Participate actively in internal auditing programs and CAPA reports
Prepare, edit, and maintain product specifications
Record COA test results and methods for accurate reporting to customers
Maintain supplier verification program to ensure we are following FSVP requirements
Review, log, and file records, including production records
Work closely with production to correct and complete records as necessary
Have an understanding of the SQF Food Safety Code: Food Manufacturing and the requirements to implement and maintain an SQF System relevant to the site’s scope of certification
REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS ROLE:
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Food Manufacturing background preferred
• 1-2 years of experience in Quality Assurance
• SQF and HACCP certification preferred
• Solid understanding of test equipment
• Strong working knowledge of various mathematical concepts including fractions, ratios, and proportions
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
• Precise and accurate record keeping
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Excellent organizational skills
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret information
WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Primarily an office environment with occasional production floor activity.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 – $24.00 per hour
