Lab Technician (Inspector) will be responsible for ensuring the quality, safety, and compliance of food and non-food products within the trading business. This role involves inspecting incoming shipments and stores, collecting and testing samples, verifying product specifications, ensuring regulatory clearance, and confirming compliance before products are released into the market.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Inspect incoming traded items, shipments and stores, collect and test samples.
Perform routine and non-routine testing on products.
Conduct microbiological, chemical, and physical tests as per the sampling plan and protocols.
Verify product specifications against approved standards.
Ensure all testing procedures comply with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Review the product labelling and packaging materials with the approved standards.
Ensure compliance with relevant
food safety
regulations (e.g., FSSC, HACCP, ISO 9001, etc.).Maintain accurate records of test results, reports, and certifications.
Collaborate with suppliers and trading partners to address quality concerns.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in food science, microbiology or in related subjects.
Minimum 3-4 years of experience in Food and Beverages trading or Food Manufacturing companies.
Good knowledge of local and international
food safety
certifications and regulations.
Good knowledge of laboratory standards (GLP).
