SUMMARY:
The Quality Lab Technician is responsible for being an integral part of our quality assurance team at our food manufacturing facility.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
QC Testing of incoming raw material and production samples in the lab, as per standard procedures. For example: sensory, viscosity, particle size, and moisture, etc.
Interpret results/findings and report all observations to the QA Manager daily.
Record all data and results in specified forms (paper and electronic) with accuracy and responsibility.
Submit appropriate quality trend reports and recommendations to QA Manager and Management team.
Ensure that all safety guidelines are always followed strictly and maintain a clean and orderly environment.
Supervise and coordinate with laboratory interns to complete daily testing requirements.
Inspect labels, codes, and weights on finished products to make sure they meet the quality standards.
Verification and Validation of lab and production equipment as necessary.
Coordinate lab samples to be sent for analyses to Third Party Labs, also responsible for organizing the retain samples.
Prepare samples required for customer approval.
Assist in customer and regulatory audits.
Assist in compliance to Food Safety, maintain SQF certification through compliance to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and maintain good housekeeping by being always inspection ready.
Organize the lab, including the supplies, documents, samples, and cleanness.
All other duties as assigned that may not be mentioned above.
Essential Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Food Science or related sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or Chemical Engineering).
Undergraduate lab experience with proficiency in laboratory and analytical skills
Ability to follow detailed processing and analytical procedures involving a sequence of related operations with minimal or no supervision.
Ability to multitask with precision and accuracy.
Ability to handle high stress situations and last minute changes with ease.
Current knowledge of Food Safety, SQF, GMPs, SOPs, etc.
Entry level position, experience is a plus.
Highly organized with excellent attention to detail.
Ability to follow instructions diligently and manage professional relationships with pleasantness.
Strong communication skills both written and oral with attention to detail.
Computer skills with proficiency using MS Word, Excel and Adobe.
