COMPENSATION:
$18.00/hr – $20.00/hr

Job Overview:

The Parts Inspector is responsible for visually and dimensionally inspecting produced fasteners to ensure they meet quality standards at various stages of the manufacturing process. Focused on part quality, communication, and scrap reduction, the Parts Inspector plays a crucial role in the efficient operations of production and in lowering company costs.

Responsibilities:
Read and interpret blueprints to ensure part quality standards are met.
Perform part inspections in designated bays.
Transfer approved, inspected parts from containment pans into the production tub.
Transfer rejected inspected parts from containment pans into the scrap tub.
Perform 4-hour quality inspections using required measurement equipment per job specifications.
Perform CC (Critical Characteristic) and SPC (Statistical Process Control) checks as needed.
Verify that machine statuses are correct and the proper documentation is at the machines.
Make accurate and complete data entries into the ERP system PLEX.
Follow the reaction plan for non-conforming or suspect products.
Call Rapid Response Teams when warranted to promote cohesiveness and understanding between involved departments.
Perform daily measurement equipment verifications in calibration logs.
Participate in all 5S initiatives and daily duties within the department.
Perform other duties/assignments per the direction of the Quality Supervisor.
Requirements for Education, Experience, and Skills:
High School Diploma or GED
Basic data entry skills
Basic math skills
Strong attention to detail and time management skills
Able to efficiently multitask and keep pace with the manufacturing floor
Comfortable working in an environment that involves exposure to oils and loud noise
Experience in inspection and knowledge of measurement equipment, preferred
Must lift and/or move up to 35 lbs. regularly. And occasionally lift and/or move 50 lbs. to 75 lbs.
Must be able to work on feet for prolonged periods while using tools and perform repetitive actions that entail frequent bending and stooping.
Must abide by the Fastco safety procedures due to the hazards in the manufacturing work environment, including hearing protection, eye protection, and proper footwear and clothing.
