Afrimat Cement Plant, based in Lichtenburg has a vacancy for a:
Lab Tester
Performs routine tests on raw materials, intermediate and finished products using specialised equipment for this purpose.
Minimum Qualifications / Experience
Matric (Grade 12 with Mathematics’ and Science
1 year on the-job- training
Duties And Responsibilities (not Limited To)
Performs all task as requested when on duty; training, inspections, special sample testing, equipment maintenance etc
Maintains overall laboratory performance, by monitoring and assessing work performed and by measuring all results reported in the correct format
Abide to storage/disposal procedures
Performs all analysis as requested for environmental requirements and compliance
Perform all analysis as required by EN standard, according to EN methodology, frequency and reporting protocol
Performs any reasonable task given to him by the Technician/ Lab Manager/ Quality Manager
Ensure safety, quality assurance and quality control is maintained on shift when assigned to perform production/ in-process quality control tasks as per the Quality Control Plan
Adhere to the group’s health and safety rules
Understand and comply to the group’s health and safety standards
Perform JHA prior to any daily activity with QCSO on shift
Participate in all health and safety campaigns
Ensures that exercising good housekeeping and compliance with safety codes of practice and adhering to lab procedures maintain a high standard of efficiency
Performs safety inspections, Safety talks and Risk management and all other Safety initiatives
Report incidents, near misses and or any unsafe conditions or actions
