Job Overview
As a Production/QC Manager, you will oversee daily production operations, ensuring quality, efficiency, and adherence to safety and compliance standards, including ISO 9001. You will be responsible for leading the team, optimizing workflows, improving productivity, and maintaining consistent quality assurance practices. This role requires a hands-on leader who can balance people management with process improvement and compliance.
Duties
Establishes daily, weekly, and monthly objectives and communicates them to employees.
Manages the workflow by assigning responsibilities and preparing schedules and coordinating tasks across departments.
Guides and coaches employees while monitoring individual and team productivity and quality performance.
Oversee safe use of equipment and schedule preventative maintenance.
Performs inspections and verification of production output according to specifications and quality standards.
Prepares and presents performance, quality, and productivity reports to senior leadership.
Identifies inefficiencies or quality issues and leads root-cause analysis and corrective action efforts.
Trains new employees on safe equipment use and production/QC procedures.
Ensures compliance with company standards, safety protocols, and ISO 9001 quality management system requirements.
Participates in internal audits, corrective action tracking, and continuous improvement initiatives.
May require occasional hands-on support with shop fabrication, including assembly, welding, or equipment setup as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Quality Assurance, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
2+ years’ experience working as a Production Supervisor or similar position.
Experience in implementing or working within an ISO 9001 quality management system preferred.
Familiarity with manufacturing machinery, hand tools, and electrical/mechanical systems.
Welding certifications such as ASME Section IX, AWS D1.1, or API 1104 are a plus.
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); ERP/MRP systems a plus.
Strong communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
Results-driven, organized, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
Proven ability to identify problems and implement solutions.
Forklift experience, forklift license preferred
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
