Laboratory Lead Jobs in Guelph, Ontario, Canada at Mars

Job Description:

Provide technical support for daily receiving lab activities to ensure timely, accurate, and reliable results. Lead investigations to drive continuous improvement and serve as the designated site trainer.

Responsibilities:

Quality & Food Safety: Follow and apply ISO 9001, FSS/ISO
22000, Mars Standards, and all related procedures. Ensure compliance with plant food safety rules, GMP-GHP, and support investigations and root cause analysis. Maintain compliance with CCPs and oPRPs. Complete all required training.

Cleanliness & Tidiness: Perform Housekeeping Checks for 5S compliance. Report quality deviations, manage reception of goods, collaborate on inbound scheduling, maintain WMS, and report stock discrepancies.

Laboratory Management: Calibrate instruments, manage control samples and ring tests, lead investigations, perform equipment maintenance, prepare samples for external labs, ensure safety procedures, train new trainees, and perform tasks delegated by Lab Manager.

Raw Materials Management: Sample raw materials, conduct analyses, manage documentation, offload raw materials, perform inventories, ensure record accuracy, and manage non-conformities with root cause analysis.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s/Diploma/Associate degree in science or equivalent.

Experience in laboratory work.

High data accuracy, computer literacy, good communication, and customer service skills.

Technically inclined with metrology knowledge, RCA, troubleshooting skills.

Self-motivated team player with a sense of urgency.

Color discrimination, odor sensitivity, texture perception, depth perception, safety, hygiene, and quality consciousness.

Physical & Environmental Requirements:

Unrestricted motion, comfortable working at heights, extensive walking, climbing stairs.

Lift up to 50kg, wear PPE, and tolerate environmental extremes.
