Lab Technician 1

Idaho Asphalt Supply, Inc. is a leading asphalt supplier and marketer in the Northwest Region. With plants in Idaho, Utah, Wyoming, Montana, Oregon, California and Arizona, IAS supplies a diverse product line of asphalts, polymer modified asphalts and asphalt emulsions to the Road maintenance and construction industry. IAS is looking for an energized, flexible self-starter to fill a full-time opening for a Lab Technician 1 at its central lab in Nampa, Idaho. This position reports to the Lab Manager.

Position Responsibilities:

Product sampling and testing; operational support for product batch testing
Participates in laboratory testing, such as QA/QC testing, formulation evaluation mix design and new product development
Performs troubleshooting and maintenance of lab and key process support equipment
Performs a variety of engineering tasks in areas of analysis, research, design, development or testing of new products and modifications of existing product
Works with other functional groups within business including Marketing, and Manufacturing in order to investigate new opportunities and help solve application problems of our products

Position Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent
AA degree or equivalent
Candidates must have excellent written and oral communication skills
Computer literate
Experienced in MS Office software
Solid interpersonal and analytical skills
Capable of performing operational tasks in an outdoor industrial environment
This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship
Local candidates preferred
Overtime, weekends, and alternate work schedules may be required during peak season. Flexibility in work hours is a must.
