Job Summary: The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for ensuring products meets the highest quality standards and aligns with our customer specifications and requirements. The QA Specialist plays a critical role in monitoring quality checks throughout the production floor, assist the supervisors with job approvals before the product is shipped and work closely with the Quality Inspectors, Quality & Continuous Supervisor and General Manager on quality related issues. This position has authority to stop any machine for quality control purposes. This position works Monday-Thursday; 1:45pm-11:45pm
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Plan, conduct and monitor inspection of materials and products to ensure finished product quality; notifies immediate supervisor in the event of problems effecting quality of production
Reconciliation of data, materials, production paperwork and certification
Work with the quality team on documentation for internal audits and other quality assurance activities
Follows any jobs that have unique requirements and specification as they travel through the production floor
Assist supervisors with job approvals and sign-offs on the production floor
Assist with the enforcement of quality assurance standards, preventative action plans and standard operating procedures
Will work closely with Quality Control Inspectors (QI) on recognition of completed materials, production paperwork and certification of Quality Control pieces and equipment
Documentation of internal audits and other Quality Department activities
Train and provide guidance to QI as needed per shift
Requirements:
High school Diploma or equivalent
Three years manufacturing industry experience; print industry preferred
Knowledge of PC and database programs; experience working with an internal ERP system, word processing, and spreadsheets
Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring high standards of quality and precision.
Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate clearly and effectively with team members and supervisor
Strong understanding of quality standards, quality control and quality assurance
Ability to anticipate, analyze, diagnose and resolve problems
The ability to utilize logical, systematic and orderly procedures to meet objectives. The ability to effectively follow-up and follow-through with tasks
Basic knowledge of measuring techniques and the ability to visually inspect incoming materials for quality
Ability to work well within a team-oriented environment, contributing to a collaborative atmosphere
Strong ability to anticipate, analyze, diagnose, and resolve issues efficiently
Strong aptitude for basic mathematics to perform quality checks and measurements
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately, including adherence to a priority List
Ability to work over-time and/or weekends as needed
