Position: Laboratory Technician for Environmental Standards
Elevate your career as a Laboratory Technician 1 within the Water and Waste Department. This full-time role focuses on the sampling and analysis of water under high-quality environmental standards.
In this position, you will engage in routine sampling and detailed analysis of wastewater and surface water samples. Your responsibilities will include performing and recording essential tests using various laboratory techniques and ensuring that all sampling equipment is calibrated and maintained. Your contributions will directly impact environmental health and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
• Utilize automated samplers to collect various water samples
• Analyze samples for quality parameters including dissolved oxygen
• Maintain and operate laboratory equipment efficiently
• Implement quality control procedures in all analyses
• Record data in LIMS and other database systems
Requirements:
• High School Grade 12 or G.E.D. completed
• Recognized university/college program in Science or equivalent
• Basic knowledge of laboratory and sampling procedures
• Competency in using a personal computer for data tasks
• Ability to work outside in varied weather conditions
