JOB FUNCTION:

The Sr. Manager, Quality North America Operations leads, coordinates and performs activities associated with quality management excellence (QME) and quality assurance as it relates to new product development, legacy products, process control, quality continuous improvement, incoming supplier quality, and all strategic processes and programs related to all operational sites within North America region. This role is to direct the development and implementation of operational QME as part of our Continuous Improvement Operating system called PEAK, quality metrics, KPIs and cost reduction efforts that drive overall process improvements and cost of failure COF initiatives.

Key responsibilities for this position will include the following:

Support all quality activities and initiatives for North American region manufacturing plants and distribution centers as related to new product development and legacy products
Lead and support the implementation of the QME system in all North America sites
Lead/Support the electronic database (HQMS) implementation with current quality management excellence
Implement and support quality policies, procedures, and quality system as required for operational sites
Drive, implement and support the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and coordination of prototype, pre-launch, and launch part qualification runs with all regional manufacturing and distribution
Review, support and approve Quality Control Plans, process flow diagrams, Process Failure Modes Effects and Analysis (PFMEA), Gage R&R’s
Implement and Drive all standardized quality KPIs and metrics on Material Non-conformances, PPAP performance, defective parts per million (DPPM), (COF), etc. across all operational sites.
Maintain and communicate weekly/monthly Quality KPIs report for regional manufacturing & distribution
Drive plants on resolving defective material issues, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
Provide strong leadership and guidance to all operational site Quality personnel
Support the customer complaint process and metrics (customer & consumer)
Support and drive measurement techniques and statistical data analysis techniques
Work with all sites on any Quality related issues as needed
Conduct and support site audits, and report findings to determine proper corrective and preventive actions.
Assist with technical and field support for customers and sales teams
Lead/Support the quality management excellence as a QME PACS leader of PEAK

Job requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technical or science discipline
7+ years of operations/manufacturing experience preferred
Hands on experience with continuous improvement – TPM, Lean and Six Sigma preferred
Management experience and the proven ability to work in a matrix organization required
Thorough knowledge of quality methods and QME (statistics, reliability, sampling and auditing)
ISO/QS/TS quality system working knowledge and auditing experience preferred
ASQ Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), Quality Engineer (CQE) or Quality Manager (CQM) is preferred
An experienced background in various types of manufacturing. Specific knowledge in the plastics, metals, wood, or electric commodities is preferred
Superior interpersonal and communication skills are essential for dealing with all levels of internal manufacturing personnel, center-led functions, and internal/external customers
Proven ability to lead teams and drive problems to root cause and implement effective countermeasures leveraging DMAIC, A3, 8D, etc.
Certification as Six Sigma Green Belt preferred
Must be a self-starter and have a passion for winning
Ability to travel 50% – 60% of the time domestically
