Overview

Key job responsibilities
- Driving and developing departmental continuous improvement initiatives and support implementation.
- Assemble mechanical and electrical satellite components, sub‑assemblies, and integration assemblies, fabricating and/or processing materials into complex manufactured products, and operating testing equipment and tooling, all in a Cleanroom and ESD control environment.
- Lead process work and review output for quality and adherence to standards and procedures.
- Lead daily team meeting facilitation, end‑of‑shift reporting, and coordinate efforts to minimize production interruptions.
- Support new‑hire training programs within your department and contribute to development and modification of training programs; develop training plans for your team and implement them within the department.
- Drive safety standards and operations protocol while ensuring team compliance.

A day in the life
The Lead MFG Assembly Technician will identify process improvements to improve build efficiency, work closely with multiple engineering teams on both early hardware development and the set‑up of later production hardware manufacturing processes, and apply technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact team metrics and organization goals.
About the team
We are a group of Technicians with well over 20 years of diverse skills and experience. Each team member brings a willingness to train and positive team energy. While some tasks may be performed individually, teamwork is essential to achieve organizational goals. We are in a research and development phase, moving toward a production environment.
Basic Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 4+ years relevant aerospace manufacturing experience.
- 4+ years of hands‑on work experience in Electro‑Mechanical Assembly, Final Integration, and/or Harness Integration.
- 4+ years experience in a fast‑paced production environment with Flight Hardware.
- 4+ years of hands‑on experience with precision torque, measurement, and inspection devices (e.g., automated and manual torque wrenches, calipers, micrometers, profilometers, optical inspection devices, multimeters, torque wrenches).
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years prior leadership experience, including leading teams, projects, or people.
- Experience bringing teams and processes from development to production.
- Aircraft & Powerplant (A&P) certification/license.
- Ability to read, interpret, and work from engineering documentation and/or drawings.
- Experience working with FOD, ESD‑sensitive hardware, and clean‑room requirements.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a high‑paced, challenging work environment.
- Previous military service is a plus.
Location
USA, WA, Kirkland – 30.00 – 50.00 USD hourly.
Compensation and Benefits
The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, Basic Life & AD&D insurance and optional Supplemental life plans, EAP, Mental Health Support, Medical Advice Line, Flexible Spending Accounts, Adoption and Surrogacy Reimbursement coverage), 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
