Primary

Purpose:

Your key responsibility will be to ensure the application of customer non-destructive testing (NDT) requirements by reviewing specifications and approving NDT techniques. You will also oversee the qualification, training, and certification of NDT personnel while coordinating audits in compliance with AS9100 standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage the NDT/X-Ray qualification program for Level I, II, and III personnel.

Maintain accurate records of qualifications, certifications, and proficiency exams.

Provide or facilitate training and certification for personnel.

Conduct non-destructive inspections as dictated by NAS
410 and customer specifications, covering all inspection types.

Collaborate in production meetings to address job progress and quality control issues.

Supervise NDT inspectors, ensuring adherence to safety and quality protocols.

Coordinate with the QA Manager to effectively schedule and assign NDT inspections.

Organize and evaluate test results, generating detailed NDT and QA reports.

Ensure testing equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.

Oversee compliance with state and federal regulations as the Radiation Safety Officer (R.S.O).

Regularly audit external agencies for compliance with written practices.

Ensure that the company’s quality system is updated with AS/ISO and customer requirements.

Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area.

Comply with all safety, HAZMAT, and environmental policies.

Be available for overtime as needed.

Minimum Qualifications and

Experience:

Experience in the investment casting industry.

Proficient with Windows-based software.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to interpret purchase orders and specifications.

Familiarity with precision measuring tools.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Proficiency in time and project management.

A proven methodology in problem-solving.

Team collaboration experience and the capacity to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Must have a B.S. in engineering, physical science, or technology with at least 5 years’ experience as a Level II in relevant NDT methods.

Hold a professional ASNT Level III certificate.

Pass the company Level III exam and any necessary customer examinations.

High School diploma or GED required; relevant experience will be considered.

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Willingness to undergo a pre-employment background check and periodic drug screenings.

Working Conditions:

Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts.

Physical activities include lifting, reaching, and repetitive motion.

Shifts and Flexibility:

Primary role on day shift.

Must be adaptable to work flexible hours for training purposes.

Overtime opportunities may be available.
